TREND POINTER INDICATORS:

Trend is hard to define or at least it has many definitions. This trend indicator draws a line between the average price value of n bars taken at two different points. One group of bars are the most recent bars and on the far right of your chart. The second group of bars is some number of bars in the past. For example, you could average the 30 most recent bars. That is one point on the line. The other group of bars might be 200 bars in the past, where you would again take the average price value of 30 bars. Draw a line between the two points and you have a very good line of long term trend.

Use shorter values and the line will follow the short term trend. The short trend is 16 bars averaged, but taken 56 bars apart.
